Do you ever wonder what it feels like to wake up on a Saturday morning in the Fall, knowing that in a few hours thousands of people will be watching you fly around a football field for two hours? Odds are that if you were once, or are currently a football player at any level then you have thought about this, in your dreams since you were just a little boy. For the 100 or so players on the Louisiana State University Tigers football team, this dream is a reality unlike anything you could ever imagine.
Football in the south is not like the pigskin play that we see elsewhere in the country. In most parts of America, football is a game that young boys play to release anger and aggression, as well as to grow as men on and off the field. In the south however, football is alot more than just a game and a growing experience, it is a way of life.
The south eastern conference is a true testament to this way of thinking, in that they have managed to bring team after team into the national championship year after year. Most recently the Florida Gators walked away with an impressive victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2009 national championship.
The LSU Tigers are one of many top tier SEC teams which include Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Florida and more, all of whom field rosters full of players whom have been participating in football since they were just little boys. The culture at these teams is unlike that of teams who reside in other conferences such as the Big East, or the Pac 10. Those teams, more often than not contain players who are both talented and hardworking, however they are simply not accustomed to having football as a way of life, the same way the Tigers and other south eastern teams are.
If you get a chance to go see, or simply sit at home and watch a football game from this conference sometime in the near future, it is in your best interest to take full advantage.
